Come Sing With Us!

You’re welcome to sing with us at our rehearsals anytime! And who knows, this could be your first step in becoming a member of the VM family. You’ll make new friends and enjoy life experiences you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

We are on holiday break during December and will resume rehearsals on Thursday, January 8, 2015. On January 15, we will have a special Guest Night and hope to see you then!

(We encourage you to contact us in advance of your visit. Our location changes from time-to-time when we have recording sessions or performances elsewhere on Thursday nights. During December and July, we may be on holiday or summer break so be sure to inquire). 

VM Membership

The Vocal Majority is always interested in bringing new members into our ranks and we heartily encourage you to visit our rehearsals to learn what our chorus is all about and experience the magic of blending your vocal skills with another 100+ talented and dedicated singers! 

To become a member, you will need to attend and participate in three rehearsals, after which you must pass a voice placement audition, be approved by the Vocal Majority Board of Directors, and become of member of our parent organization, the Barbershop Harmony Society (www.barbershop.org).  At this point, you will be a registered member of the Dallas Metropolitan Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

There are student rates, senior citizen rates, and installment methods of payment.  Our  Membership Vice President will be happy to discuss these options with you.

To quality to perform in public with the Vocal Majority, you’ll be required to attend rehearsals, learn our current repertoire, and participate in a series of new-member training programs that are scheduled one hour prior to regular Thursday night rehearsals to learn our presentation choreography.  When you’re ready, you’ll be asked to pass a final music and choreography audition to become “riser qualified” and a member of the Vocal Majority performing chorus. 

We welcome and encourage you to join us as we “keep the whole world singing” every Thursday from 7:00pm – 10:30pm.
